Half measures

Cliftonville Ladies suffered a chastening defeat thanks to a disastrous first-half performance against Linfield Ladies this evening.

All five of the Blues’ unanswered goals came in the first-half at New Midgley Park, where the hosts earned full Danske Bank Women’s Premiership points courtesy of strikes from Kirsty McGuinness (2), Louise McDaniel, Casey Howe and Caitlyn McGuinness.

The Reds will bid to atone and get back on track when they return to action in next Wednesday’s clash with Crusaders Strikers.
