Perfect 10

Cliftonville Ladies went goal crazy at Tandragee Road tonight when they put 10 without reply past Portadown Ladies in their Danske Bank Women’s Premiership encounter.

Not for the first time this season, Amber Dempster registered a hat-trick as the Reds remained in firmly in the hunt for title honours come the end of the campaign.

Dempster opened the scoring with just five minutes on the clock and it wasn’t long before Hannah Grieve struck to make it 2-0.

The Reds’ advantage was extended further when Shannon Grattan netted to make it 3-0 at half-time ahead of Grieve claiming her second goal of the night.

Chloe Orr teed Emma McMaster up for the fifth and, after Dempster rounded the Ports keeper to make it 6-0, Billie Simpson added her name to the scoresheet.

Niamh Connolly struck Cliftonville’s eighth before Dempster completed her treble, with Marissa Callaghan rounding things off to take the visitors into double figures.

The Reds – who remain eight points behind Linfield Ladies at the top of the Premiership with a game in hand – turn their attentions to Electric Ireland Irish Cup action for their next outing, when they tackle Glentoran Women in their Semi Final clash at The Bangor Fuels Arena on Saturday night (8pm).
