Sub story for McDaniel

Louise McDaniel made a substitute appearance in Northern Ireland Women’s European Championship qualifying defeat to Portugal this evening.

Tanya Oxtoby’s side went down 4-0 in Leiria, where McDaniel was introduced for Lauren Wade with just under 20 minutes to play.

Cliftonville team-mates Marissa Callaghan, Kelsie Burrows and Danielle Maxwell were unused substitutes for the game, with all four Reds players also part of the squad for Tuesday’s return tie with the same opponents at Mourneview Park.
