All Hale Rory’s new deal!

Cliftonville Football Club are delighted to announce that Rory Hale has signed a contract extension.

The 26-year-old former Academy star, who returned to Solitude in January of 2021, has scored 21 goals in 114 appearance since making the move from Crusaders and says he’s excited about what the future holds.

“Anybody that knows me knows that I love it here so it was a no-brainer to sign a contract extension,” explains the ex-Aston Villa midfielder, who has committed to the Reds until 2027.

“I’m a lot happier in my football, happier off the pitch as well and I feel like I’m making a contribution, which is important to me.

“Over the last few years, I’ve been part of a team that has got Cliftonville challenging again, being up at the top end of the League and fighting for Cups, and I want us all to kick on and win as much as possible in the years ahead.”

As well as being among the goals this season, Hale’s eight assists mean he’s level with team-mate Ronan Doherty as the Premiership’s leading provider and puts his sparkling form down to the job specifics laid out by the management team.

“Jim Magilton, Gerard Lyttle and Ricky McCann have all been great for me,” he adds.

“They’ve got me working in a system where I can conserve energy out of possession and save it for when I’m on the ball. I’m much more involved in the play and I don’t see how you can’t be confident in yourself when a Manager shows that sort of belief in you.”

Magilton himself was, meanwhile, delighted to secure Hale’s signature for a further three years.

“Rory has been fantastic from day one,” explains the Manager.

“As well as being such an important player and obviously a great talent on the pitch, he’s a big character and personality in our changing room.

“I’ve really enjoyed working with him and I’m looking forward to working with him for even longer.”
