Sam Ashford struck Cliftonville’s winner just two minutes after being introduced to today’s hard-fought battle with Coleraine.

Having found themselves second best throughout a testing first-half at The Showgrounds, the Reds took the lead when Ben Wilson tucked home a Shea Kearney cross 12 after the restart.

Conor McKendry drew the Bannsiders level with an emphatic finish before Ashford – who emerged from the bench in place of Wilson – finished things off after some wing wizardry from fellow substitute Stephen Mallon.
