It means more than ever

The eagerly anticipated Sports Direct Women’s Premiership season kicks off when Cliftonville Ladies begin their defence of the title against Linfield Women at Solitude on Sunday – and it means more than ever!

Under the NI Football League umbrella, the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership is now bigger than ever having expanded to 10 Clubs with two new teams meaning more games, more drama and the advent of professional contracts for female players.

NIFL Chief Executive Gerard Lawlor said: “We’re delighted to see the return of the Women’s Premiership and for the first time with our new title sponsor Sports Direct.

“We welcome two new clubs to the top-flight of female football in Northern Ireland and with so much excitement about the new season. it really does now mean more than ever, and we can’t wait to get started!”

The opening round of the Women’s Premiership sees Champions Cliftonville host the Blues at Solitude on Sunday, when kick-off is at 4pm with admission set at £4 for Adults and £1 for Concessions.
