Ladies night

The curtain was formally brought down on an historic season for Cliftonville Ladies at last night’s Player of the Year Awards.

The gala occasion at Belfast’s Europa Hotel celebrated the Reds’ first ever Danske Bank Women’s Premiership title triumph and paid tribute to the players who made the dream a reality.

Defender Kelsie Burrows landed the Manager’s Player of the Year honour, while top goalscorer Caitlin McGuinness was rewarded with a similar accolade from her team-mates alongside Fi Morgan’s Young Player of the Year gong.

As well as dishing out accolades to our senior talents, the event – where entertainment was provided by Tim McGarry – also recognised our stars of the future currently plying their trade with Cliftonville Corinthians.

The Under-19s selected Chelsea Irvine as their Player of the Year and, in addition to Katie Markey’s top scorer trophy, rewarded Molly Gallagher with their Most Improved Player award.
