Squad injury update
Cliftonville Football Club are pleased to provide fitness updates on three players who have been sidelined with injury in recent times.
Defender Aaron Traynor made his return from a broken shin bone as a late substitute in Saturday’s Danske Bank Premiership victory over Ballymena United, while Ryan Curran – who, as a precautionary measure, has been an unused sub for the last seven matches – last week received a positive diagnosis on a groin strain and is hopeful of making a full comeback next month.
Winger Stephen Mallon (pictured) suffered a serious quadricep tear in August’s win over Ballymena at The Showgrounds and, though he has been close to a return on more than one occasion since then, has been unable to get fully over the line in that regard and yesterday flew to London for further treatment, with everyone at Solitude naturally wishing him a speedy recovery.
