Reds are a hit for six

More than 100 Clubs will be represented at this summer’s Women’s European Championships and no side has more players in the Northern Ireland squad than Cliftonville.

International captain Marissa Callaghan is joined in the panel by Reds team-mates Abbie Magee, Kelsie Burrows and Louise McDaniel as well as the McGuinness sisters, Caitlin and Kirsty, and all at Solitude naturally wish them well for their forthcoming Group A engagements with Norway, Austria and England, all of which will be played at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton.

With six players involved at Euro 2022, the Reds have a larger travelling party than some of the most recognisable names on the Club scene – Ajax, Inter, Lazio, Liverpool and Milan to name but a few.

Juventus’ 16 puts them at the top of the list, with the likes of Wolfsburg (15), Barcelona (14), Arsenal and Chelsea (both 12) tucked in just behind, with the following unverified list – which excludes free agents – providing a clearer picture of precisely where Cliftonville stand when it comes to representation at the tournament which kicks off on Wednesday evening.
