High Hopes

Cliftonville were delighted to be represented by Cerys Madden in this week’s Hope Cup match.

Hosted at Seaview by the Irish Football Association in the build-up to the midweek UEFA Super Cup Final between Chelsea and Villarreal, the occasion was staged as part of a campaign to raise awareness about the devastating impact of online hate in sport and among young people.

The match, which was contested between teams managed by Glenn Hoddle and Joe Cole, involved children aged between 14 and 17 who are engaged in community projects that are helping to bridge the sectarian divide and care for refugees who have settled here – with Cliftonville Ladies star Madden proudly showcasing her talents for the Hope United XI during a highly entertaining 3-3 draw.
