Cliftonville Ladies fell to a 4-1 defeat to Glentoran Women in this evening’s Danske Bank Women’s Premiership fixture at a rain-lashed Solitude.

Two days on from a disappointing League Cup exit at the hands of Sion Swifts, the Reds got off to the worst possible start when Rachel Rogan put the Glens ahead in the opening minutes.

Nadene Caldwell doubled the visitors’ advantage before half-time and, though Rachel McConnell reduced the arrears, Glentoran’s Kerry Beattie netted either side of Cliftonville defender Megan Weatherall’s red card compounding the frustrations of the hosts, who might have fallen further behind at the finish when Demi Vance missed from the penalty spot.
