Gift of the Gib

Three Cliftonville players contributed to a little bit of footballing history this weekend when they were part of the Northern Ireland squad that contested the first ever international futsal fixtures in Gibraltar.

Amber Dempster, Megan Weatherall and Rachel McConnell were in the side for Saturday night’s match at the Tercentenary Hall – where Reds striker Dempster was twice on target in the visitors’ 3-0 win – as well as last night’s second friendly, which Northern Ireland recovered from 2-0 down to claim a 3-2 victory.

While commending the Cliftonville trio and their team-mates on their two successes, all at Solitude extend congratulations on a personal level for the further international recognition our players have enjoyed.
