Second helpings

Cliftonville Ladies narrowed the gap at the top of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership to three points courtesy of a 5-1 victory over Derry City Ladies at Solitude this evening.

Amber Dempster opened the scoring after just nine minutes, with Shannon Grattan and Emma McMaster stretching the Reds’ advantage to three goals before the interval.

Billie Simpson was next to find the net ahead of Dempster claiming their second of the night as Cliftonville – who shipped a late consolation – leapfrogged Crusaders Strikers into second place in the table.
