Nominations to the four

Cliftonville Ladies will be represented across four categories at this weekend’s NIFL Women’s Football Awards.

The curtain comes down on the women’s season when the Reds bid to retain the Irish Cup in this month’s Final with Glentoran but, before that, all eyes will be on Belfast’s Malone Hotel, which will host Friday’s star-studded ceremony.

Last term’s Women’s Premiership Player of the Year Teegan Lynch has been shortlisted for the accolade again, but faces competition from Cliftonville team-mate Caitlin McGuinness, whose stunning strike against Lisburn Ladies has been nominated for the Goal of the Season award.

Charlotte Havern, who made the first two appearances of her senior international career during Northern Ireland Women’s World Cup Play-Off clashes with Portugal this week, is in the running for Young Player of the Year, while Brendan Lynch is in contention for the Manager of the Year honour.

Best wishes are extended to all of the Reds who have been shortlisted for honours, and don’t forget there’s still time to ensure you’re there when the team bid to end their campaign on another trophy-raising high by snapping up your ticket for the October 24 Irish Cup showdown with the Glens.
