Redro step
You wanted a Red retro shirt, you’ve got a Red retro shirt!
Following on from last month’s release of a hugely popular white jersey to commemorate John McCredy McAlery’s legendary imprint on Irish football, Cliftonville FC are delighted to today unveil a brand new addition to our nostalgic range.
Continuing to celebrate our history with a modern twist on a classic look, these limited edition Red shirts fuse the old with the new and draw inspiration from three centuries of influence.
Available both online and from The Reds Shop, which is open at Solitude from 5pm-7.30pm this evening, the jerseys are today released in celebration of our founding father’s pioneering vision, on this 100th anniversary of his passing.
Though Cliftonville first bore a shamrock on their jerseys way back in 1887, it was not until as recently as 1992 that the specific three-leaf clover with which we are now more familiar made its initial appearance.
Paying tribute to our heritage with a reproduction of McAlery’s famous newspaper advert that heralded the formation of Cliftonville FC, the shirts – which come in long-sleeve Adult size only – also sport our contemporary shamrock design on the breast with a darker reproduction on the nape of the neck.

You can order yours online right now or, if you’d prefer, you can visit The Reds Shop at Solitude, which will be operating extended hours of 5pm-7.30pm today.
