Let’s rock the vote

Friday night’s draw with Ballymena United brought the curtain down on an ultimately frustrating January for Cliftonville, meaning the time has now come for our latest Player of the Month poll.

Aside from a below par North Belfast Derby defeat to Crusaders, the Reds performed superbly in every other fixture but had just three wins to show for their efforts from seven outings.

It all started with a dominant New Year’s Day defeat of Glenavon at Mourneview Park, where Levi Ives and Ryan Curran were on target in a 2-0 win, before the Crues triumphed by the same scoreline at a snowy Solitude.

A Joe Gormley hat-trick in addition to finishes from Luke Turner and Aaron Donnelly earned a 5-0 victory over Islandmagee in the first round of the Samuel Gelston’s Whiskey Irish Cup ahead of Jamie McDonagh’s eye-catching opener in a home reverse at the hands of Glentoran.

Curran was on target again as the Reds overcame Larne ahead of McDonagh bagging doubles in 2-2 draws with both Linfield and Ballymena.

To cast your Sean Graham Player of the Month vote, simply choose an option before our poll closes at midnight on Wednesday, with the result set to be unveiled later in the week.
