Brian’s grand milestone

He’s the man who sets the scene for the team on matchday and Brian Campbell this weekend reached the incredible landmark of 1000 games as Cliftonville’s Kitman.

Friday’s North Belfast Derby with Crusaders marked the milestone midway through Brian’s 19th season in a role he has savoured since formally extending his family’s distinguished links with the Club back in 2007.

Indeed, the Reds’ 130th Anniversary clash with Celtic two years later coincided with his meeting of Cliodhna, whom he married in 2017 and with whom he has two children, Eimear and Oscar.

His services have also been extended to the international stage with Northern Ireland’s Under-21 side and, reflecting on his time at Solitude, he recently featured in the NI Football League’s popular ‘One of our own’ series, where he looked back through almost two decades of distinguished dedication at Ireland’s Oldest Football Club.

Everyone at Solitude congratulates Brian on reaching 1000 matches of service and we thank him on behalf of the various Managers, players and staff to whom he has been a priceless help to over the years.
