Cliftonville Football Club are very pleased to announce the signing of Tom Lavery on loan from Sunderland.

The 19-year-old defender has recently returned from the Premier League side’s pre-season training camp in Portugal, where he featured in friendlies against Sporting and Sevilla.

As well as being a regular for Sunderland’s Under-21s, Lavery was named in seven of the Black Cats’ matchday squads in the English Championship over the past two seasons and arrives at Solitude seeking vital first-team experience with the Reds.

Part of the set-up at the Mackems for a decade now, Tom is Cliftonville’s sixth addition of the summer transfer window and arrives in North Belfast with the warmest of welcomes from all associated with the Club.
