Cliftonville Ladies 2-1 Crusaders Strikers

Cliftonville Ladies made a winning return to domestic action with victory in tonight’s North Belfast Derby at Solitude.

Reporting for their first taste of Sports Direct Women’s Premiership duty since their historic Champions League achievements in Kosovo, the Reds took a ninth minute lead when Caitlin McGuinness converted Fi Morgan’s assist to register her 100th goal for the Club.

A solo effort from Naomi McLaughlin doubled the Reds’ advantage just past the hour mark and, though Crusaders Strikers pulled one back through Alison McMaster, it wasn’t enough to deny the Champions full points.
