Joe’s still a treble maker

Joe Gormley celebrated a personal treble at last night’s Cliftonville FC Awards.

As well as being voted Sean Graham Player of the Year by Reds supporters, the 35-year-old was named Players’ Player of the Year by his team-mates at the Hilton Hotel, from where he also walked away with the Club’s Golden Boot for Top Goalscorer.

The Goal of the Season honour, however, went to captain Rory Hale for his sizzling Irish Cup sixth round strike against Glenavon in February (below), while Shea Kearney landed the Young Player of the Year accolade.

The Freddie Jardine Special Merit Award was presented to Club Chaplain Reverend Dario Leal, while Peter Murray became the latest inductee to the John McCredy McAlery Hall of Fame.

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to everyone – particularly Brian Campbell, Amanda Irvine and Cassie Watson – for their assistance in organising the event, with further gratitude extended to compere Daniel Duffy and the Hilton Hotel staff for their professionalism and diligence throughout the night.
