Wex marks the starting spot

Cliftonville Ladies returned to action in a friendly encounter with Wexford Women yesterday.

Some 19 weeks after lifting the Irish Cup to complete an historic trophy treble, the Sport’s Direct Women’s Premiership’s invincible Champions were back at Solitude for their first pre-season run-out.

Caitlin McGuinness and Abbie Maylock were on target for the Reds in a 4-2 defeat, with our thanks extended to Wexford for making the journey to Belfast.
