In memory of Tommy and Frankie
A Cliftonville Legends side will take on their Banbridge Town counterparts when the Tommy Breslin & Frankie Wilson Memorial Cup goes up for grabs this weekend.
Ballyclare Comrades’ Dixon Park home will play host to a showdown between favourites from yesteryear in tribute to two much-missed stalwarts of Irish League football and, with spectators admitted free of charge, Reds fans are invited to come along and be part of the occasion.
Peter Murray and Ronan Scannell will jointly manage a Cliftonville squad selected from John Connolly, Declan O’Hara, Jaimie McGovern, Marc Smyth, Keith Mulvenna, George McMullan, Barry Johnston, Ryan Catney, Martin Donnelly, Tommy McCallion, Francis Murphy, Kieran O’Connor, Ciaran Caldwell, Chris Scannell, Vincent Sweeney, Stephen O’Neill, Hugh McCourt, Ciaran Stitt and Brian Campbell.
Kick-off is at 3.15pm and, as well as the match being contested in memory of Tommy and Frankie, a tribute will also be paid to Tommy’s sister Anne, who passed away last week.
