Derry City Women 0-3 Cliftonville Ladies

Cliftonville Ladies made it 10 wins from 10 in the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership with a hard-fought victory over Derry City this evening.

Though the Reds produced a confident display throughout proceedings at Brandywell Stadium, the outcome remained in the balance until a Danielle Maxwell double in the closing stages ensured three points in the first of two games in hand over table-toppers Glentoran Women.

Marissa Callaghan opened the scoring on 37 minutes following a deep cross from Naomi McLaughlin but it wasn’t until injury-time that the win was secure when Maxwell netted on 94 minutes – and, just for good measure, she swiftly followed up with another to add some additional gloss to the scoreline.
