Malting pot
Louise McDaniel and Danielle Maxwell were part of the Northern Ireland Women’s side that defeated Malta 2-0 in this evening’s European Championship qualifier in Ta’ Qali.
An own by from Emma Lipman and late effort from Kerry Beattie earned the visitors victory at the Centenary Stadium, where McDaniel (pictured) played the first 71 minutes and where Maxwell was introduced from the bench four minutes from time.
Fellow Cliftonville representatives Marissa Callaghan and Kelsie Burrows were unused substitutes for the game, which is the first of a qualifying double header that will conclude with Tuesday’s clash against Bosnia-Herzegovina at Windsor Park.
