Caitlin repeats the trick

Lisburn Ladies 0-6 Cliftonville Ladies

Caitlin McGuinness hit a hat-trick to help Cliftonville Ladies power past Lisburn Ladies this evening.

Having celebrated a treble in last year’s Women’s Premiership League Cup Final, McGuinness picked up where she left off to help the holders to victory in tonight’s quarter-final outing at at Bluebell Stadium.

Older sister Kirsty McGuinness started the scoring with a curling free-kick before Fi Morgan found the roof of the net on 24 minutes.

Caitlin McGuinness opened her account on the half-hour and then took advantage of a slack pass from the hosts to make it 4-0 after the interval.

Good work from Louise McDaniel allowed Carla Devine to net her first goal since returning to the Reds during the close season, but McGuinness ensured it would be her night when she completed her hat-trick from Katie Markey’s chipped assist.
