Gall to attention

Jim Magilton says Loughgall’s performances and results so far this season have commanded the respect of everyone in the Sports Direct Premiership.

Ahead of tomorrow’s clash at Lakeview Park, the Reds boss remembers only too well how sternly the Villagers battled for a point at Solitude back in September and predicts a similarly engaging battle this time round.

“It’s going to be another tough one, there’s no doubt about that,” said Magilton ahead of Cliftonville’s first trip to Loughgall in 17 years.

“Since they’ve come up, they’ve had some great results against top sides and they are a team you have to respect because they’ve more than earned it.

“It’s not that long ago that we drew with them so we have a pretty recent reminder of how difficult they’re capable of making things and I would expect more of the same. We have to find a way to deal with it, work round it and try to make sure the football we play is good enough to win the game.

“I don’t think, at this stage of the season, anyone is underestimating them because they’ve already shown what they can do and we certainly won’t be going there taking them lightly.”
