Final countdown: Finnegan

Toni Leigh Finnegan says the significance of the occasion will ensure full focus as Cliftonville Ladies count down to Saturday night’s Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup Final.

The Reds take on newly crowned Champions Glentoran at Windsor Park where, in addition to the east Belfast side seeking to seal a League and Cup double, Finnegan and co will be bidding for a trophy treble having already lifted both the County Antrim Cup and League Cup this term.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game, the last two times we have met have finished in draws,” says Finnegan, who turned 21 today.

“It’s the last game of the year at Windsor Park and it’s a Cup Final – knowing all of that is enough to excite anyone.

“We have played in every domestic game this season that we could have played in. It’s obviously disappointing not winning the League but we are still very proud as a team, winning two trophies this season and hopefully a third on Saturday.”

Tickets for the game, which are available at a cost of £6 for adults and £3 for juniors (exclusive of £1 booking charge), can be purchased by clicking here.

Group bookings of 10 or more will receive a 50% discount with the promo code EIWCC23, which should be manually applied prior to selecting your seats. To purchase group tickets, simply click here.
