Lukes like a challenge

Luke Turner says that the manner of Tuesday night’s five-star victory over Coleraine means that tomorrow’s clash with Loughgall is Cliftonville’s toughest game of the season.

The Reds will bid for a fourth straight victory when they play host to last season’s Championship title winners, who claimed the biggest scalp of their Sports Direct Premiership return when they got the better of Larne in midweek – a result that Turner says proves they are not to be taken lightly.

“I think it will be the toughest game we’ll play all season,” he insists.

“After a win like that, people are going to think our standards might drop. That’s not going to happen.

“You have a team at Loughgall, they’re going to be physical but they have some tidy players. They’re not going to be mugs. They are going to come and be hard to break down but, at the same time, they are going to have their own threats. We need to be looking out for that.”

You can read the full Turner interview in tomorrow’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £3.
