Callaghan’s a driving fourth

Cliftonville Ladies 10-0 Larne Women

Marissa Callaghan struck four times as Cliftonville Ladies began the weekend with an emphatic victory over Larne Women at Solitude this evening.

Toni Leigh Finnegan continued her fine form in front of goal by opening the scoring before doubling the Reds’ advantage with an effort from distance.

Callaghan’s first of the night came from the penalty spot after a foul on Kirsty McGuinness, who was next on the scoresheet with an eye-catching blast to make it 4-0.

Callaghan netted again before half-time and, after Caitlin McGuinness had registered the first goal of the second period, the skipper completed her treble before contributing a fourth with a chipped effort in the closing minutes.

There was, however, still time for Claire Shaw to convert a Katie Markey cross ahead of Fi Morgan wrapping things up with a trademark header.
