Pepp in our step

Cliftonville Football Club are very pleased to announce the signing of Conor Pepper.

The 29-year-old Dubliner joins after a three-year spell at Linfield and becomes boss Jim Magilton’s second recruit of the day following Sean Stewart’s arrival on loan from Norwich City.

“Conor is a very dependable player who I’m very happy to have got on board,” explains the Manager.

“He’s hard-working, he’s versatile and has plenty of experience that can only be of benefit to us. I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Cliftonville shirt.”

A former Republic of Ireland Under-19 international, Pepper – who can operate in both defence and midfield – began his senior career with St Patrick’s Athletic and moved to Inverness Caledonian Thistle before winning the Scottish League one title with Greenock Morton in 2015.

His first taste of Irish League action came when he was snapped up by Glentoran three years later and, having subsequently featured for the Blues, has today put pen to paper with the Reds, just over a week ahead of our new Sports Direct Premiership campaign kicking off against Glenavon.

Cliftonville FC appreciate and acknowledge the support from David Campbell Sports Management in completing the deal for Conor, who will wear the number 2 shirt during the season ahead.
