Marissa Callaghan and Danielle Maxwell each netted hat-tricks as Cliftonville Ladies made a winning return to Sports Direct Women’s Premiership duty this evening.

With Cup commitments having taken precedence in recent weeks, the Reds showed no signs of rustiness back in the League as Louise McDaniel opened the scoring early on at Solitude.

Maxwell made it 2-0 before Callaghan’s brace doubled Cliftonville’s advantage ahead of Maxwell striking again to make it 5-0 at the interval.

Derry pulled one back in the opening stages of the second period, but it wasn’t long until Toni-Leigh Finnegan slipped Maxwell through to complete her treble.

Callaghan secured her own hat-trick with a smart backheel to make it 7-1, with substitute Katie Markey putting the seal on things with the final strike of the night.
