Abbie Magee says Cliftonville Ladies’ ability to maintain a one-game-at-a-time mantra is key to prolonging the charge for silverware on various fronts.

The Reds host Linfield Women in the semi-finals of the Women’s Premiership League Cup this evening and, with a host of other Cup competitions keeping them occupied in the weeks and months ahead, Magee insists now is not the time for any change in approach.

“I think this is something we have been good at this season – focusing and preparing for the next game we will play, especially being involved in so many other competitions,” she explains.

“Your full focus has to be on the next opponent and how you can win before worrying about any other games later in the week.

“At Cliftonville, we set high standards and want to win the League, as well as be involved in all other Cup competitions that there is. You should believe and want to win everything that you are involved in.”

With a place in the Premiership League Cup Final on the line at Solitude tonight, former Blues ace Magee expects a stern test for the right to feature in the decider.

“We know Linfield will be a challenge and will have prepared well but it is one we are all very much looking forward to,” she adds. “These are the games you want to be involved in.”
