No quarter given for McDaniel
Louise McDaniel believes Cliftonville Ladies and Glentoran Women know exactly what to expect from one another in tonight’s Premiership League Cup quarter-final tie at Solitude.
The sides locked horns on League duty earlier this month and, with memories of that 2-2 draw not faded, McDaniel says: “Having faced them a couple of weeks ago, I think the game is still fresh so we don’t expect anything different from them.
“I don’t think there’s any extra motivation for us trying to get into another semi-final, we take each game as it comes and want to do our best to win every game.”
The Reds enter this evening’s contest on the back of a hard-fought victory over Sion Swifts Ladies in Saturday’s Avenir Sports All-Island Cup opener – an experience which McDaniel hopes can stand her and her team-mates in good stead for future challenges.
“I think the game against Sion proved to be more physical encounter but one we thoroughly enjoyed in the end.
“Those games when you have to battle always give you a great feeling after them because you know how hard you have had to work for your win.”
