Crowd pleasers

Chris Curran says it’s important for Cliftonville to give the Red Army something to believe in during tonight’s European Play-Off semi-final with Coleraine.

The Reds failed to find their stride in the closing weeks of the Danske Bank Premiership campaign and, as they prepare to tackle the Bannsiders in a crucial end-of-term battle at Solitude, the skipper has called for everyone to step up to the plate.

“The picture is completely clear now and we have to win our next game,” he asserts.

“We just have to prepare for that. Generally, our record at home has been really strong. Throughout the last year or two, we’ve been really strong at home and we’ve gained a lot of confidence from the crowd that comes to support us at home. We need to get back to that.

“At the same time, we need to give our home crowd something to shout for. Hopefully we can do that.”

You can read the full Curran interview in tonight’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £3.

Carrying Declan O’Hara’s pre-match views from the Manager’s Office, The Red Eye’s 27th issue of the campaign examines this term’s record against Coleraine and steps 79, 82 and 99 years down memory lane – plus plenty more besides.
