Reds’ high five

Five Cliftonville players were part of the Northern Ireland Women’s team that defeated Luxembourg 2-1 in tonight’s World Cup qualifying tie at Stade Emile Mayrisch in Esch-sur-Alzette.

International captain Marissa Callaghan started the game alongside Louise McDaniel, Caitlin McGuinness (pictured) and Kirsty McGuinness, while Solitude team-mate Abbie Magee emerged from the bench in the game that saw Durham’s Sarah McFadden and Rebecca McKenna of Lewes on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Reds duo Grace McKimm and Toni-Leigh Finnegan were unused substitutes for the team’s penultimate outing in Group D, which concludes with a game against Latvia in Jurmala on Tuesday.
