Clearing the Dec

The postponement of yesterday’s North Belfast Derby date with Crusaders brought the curtain down on a testing December for Cliftonville – meaning the time has now come for our latest Player of the Month poll.

After a solitary Ryan Curran goal had been enough to get the better of Ballymena United on Danske Bank Premiership duty, the same player was also on target against Linfield on a night that saw the Reds make a controversial exit from the County Antrim Shield in a madcap penalty shootout.

Paul O’Neill’s header saw a dominant display rewarded with an away draw against Portadown before Curran’s double and a well-taken Joe Gormley finish saw Ballymena ousted from the League Cup at the semi-final stage ahead of Cliftonville completing December’s schedule with a 2-0 defeat of Carrick Rangers courtesy of O’Neill and Curran finding the net.

To cast your Sean Graham Player of the Month vote, simply choose an option before our poll closes at kick-off in Saturday’s Premiership clash with Glenavon, with the result set to be unveiled early next week.
