McGuinness spells treble
Kirsty McGuinness struck a hat-trick as Northern Ireland Women recorded a second high-scoring victory over North Macedonia in the space of a few days.
Having put 11 unanswered goals past their opponents in Skopje on Thursday, Kenny Shiels’ side recorded a 9-0 win in this evening’s return World Cup qualifying tie at Seaview.
Cliftonville striker McGuinness opened the scoring on 11 minutes and would also add the home side’s fourth before half-time ahead of completing her treble just past the hour.
Youngster sister Caitlin’s 83rd minute substitute appearances brought to four the number of Reds players involved in the match, with Louise McDaniel having earlier replaced international skipper Marissa Callaghan.
