Mar power to you

Huge congratulations to Marissa Callaghan on being named Sportsperson of the Year at the Ulster Tatler Awards.

Last night’s ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel saw Cliftonville legend Callaghan, who captained Northern Ireland Women to qualification for next summer’s European Championships, land the accolade amid competition from her own international boss Kenny Shiels, World Superbike Champion Jonathan Rea (pictured), Olympic gymnast Rhys McClenaghan and Solheim Cup-winning golfer Leona Maguire.

The most-capped player in the Club’s history, Callaghan was also instrumental in the Reds’ Danske Bank Women’s Premiership title challenge and picked up her Ulster Tatler honour with the commendation of everyone at Solitude.
