Mar the merrier

Congratulations to Marissa Callaghan, who has been named May’s Danske Bank Women’s Premiership Player of the Month by the NI Football Writers’ Association.

The Northern Ireland international captain found the net against both Linfield Ladies and Sion Swifts as the Reds maintained their perfect start to the new campaign – and Callaghan was quick to pay tribute to those around her.

“We have had a great start to the season,” he said.

“Our new coaching team have created a winning culture at the Club and all the girls have bought into it.

“I’m delighted to be named Player of the Month, but in all honesty every player deserves a trophy because our good start to the season has been a team effort. We have a very young team. It’s my job to help them fulfil their potential.”
