Hale calls to mind

Rory Hale says he can detect a change in mindset at Cliftonville compared to the one he encountered when he returned to the Club earlier in the season.

The former Academy star was the first of seven January recruits to make his debut for the Reds and has played an integral role in helping the team develop the consistency required to firstly climb in the table and keep in touch with the teams above them.

Ahead of tonight’s Danske Bank Premiership fixture with Glentoran at Solitude, the midfielder expresses pride at the impact he and his fellow new signings have made but is also quick to point out contributions from some of the side’s longer-serving names.

“We’re trying to get a winning mentality into the team now,” he explains.

“A lot of the new players like myself, Paul [O’Neill] and big Aaron [McCarey] have drove the lads on as well.

“Some of the lads have put in good performances like Ryan Curran and Liam Bagnall in the middle – he has really helped me a lot as well.”

You can read the full Hale interview in tonight’s digital edition of The Red Eye, which will be available here on cliftonvillefc.net ahead of kick-off.
