The month ahead: April

Cliftonville face seven fixtures over two competitions in April as the first round of the Sadler’s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup brings an end to six straight months of Danske Bank Premiership action.

After tomorrow night’s encounter with Warrenpoint Town at Milltown, the Reds welcome Dungannon Swifts to Solitude on April 6 before making the short journey to Seaview for the third North Belfast Derby of the season with Crusaders on the 10th.

A week later, Paddy McLaughlin’s side will be away to Portadown before back-to-back home games with Glentoran (April 20) and Carrick Rangers (April 24) lead the Reds into their long-awaited Irish Cup encounter with Portstewart – so be sure to add all of those dates to your diary as Cliftonville bid to generate some vital momentum at this key stage of the season.
