Window dressing

The closure of the Transfer Window brought an end to a busy month of player movement at Solitude.

Always a period rife with rumour and speculation amid a flurry of talks across the Danske Bank Premiership and beyond, Cliftonville – whose first piece of business was the upgrading of Conor McDermott’s loan switch from Derry City to a permanent transfer – were very pleased to announce new contracts and extensions for five players on January 2.

With the futures of Levi Ives, Garry Breen, Liam Bagnall, Jamie Harney and Richard Brush secured, the Reds would finalise the acquisition of striker Michael McCrudden (below) from Derry five days later.

On the departures front and following on from the extension of Caoimhin McConnell’s loan deal with Ards as well as Longford Town announcing the signing of defender Joe Gorman, Cliftonville yesterday confirmed the Deadline Day sale of Ruaidhrí Donnelly to Glentoran alongside the release of midfielder Mark McKee.

We naturally wish our new arrivals well during their Reds careers and likewise hope our outgoing players enjoy rewarding experiences on their travels.
