Organ Donation Week 2019

As Organ Donation Week commences, Cliftonville Football Club are pleased to welcome Donate4Daithi as our Official Matchday Partners for Saturday’s Danske Bank Premiership encounter with Linfield at Solitude.

Dáithí Mac Gabhann is a two-year-old from Ballymurphy who was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and, at just four days old, required open heart surgery – a procedure with which he has sadly become all too familiar during his short life.

His second such operation came less than a week later and, after suffering heart failure, was discovered to have a defect so significant that doctors need not even try and fix it – which is when the search for a new heart began.

Dáithí is now on the routine transplant list with Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, England, which provides his parents Máirtín and Seph with a window of time to raise as much awareness as possible of organ donation.

Cliftonville FC advise our supporters that they can register to become organ donors by clicking here, are likewise only too pleased to help raise further awareness by turning our Social Media outlets pink throughout this Organ Donation Week.

In addition to Saturday’s Matchday Partnership with Donate4Daithi , Cliftonville FC would encourage the Red Army to show their support by highlighting the family’s appeal via their dedicated Facebook and Twitter platforms.
