The state of Play

Results in today’s final round of Danske Bank Premiership fixtures have provided some further clarity regarding next month’s Europa League Play-Offs, however the exact structure of the competition will not be determined until after the Tennent’s Irish Cup Final.

The three confirmed participants – Cliftonville, Coleraine and Glentoran – could yet be joined by one or both from Glenavon or Cup Finalists Crusaders, meaning the Reds’ proposed Semi Final encounter cannot be assigned a confirmed date for a further seven days.

Should the Crues win the Irish Cup, four teams would contest the Play-Offs, with Cliftonville hosting Coleraine at Solitude on Tuesday, May 7.

If, however, Ballinamallard United win the Cup, the Reds would be away to Crusaders on either May 7 or May 11, depending on whether or not the Mallards are granted a UEFA Licence to play in next season’s Europa League.

As always, cliftonvillefc.net will endeavour to keep our supporters fully informed of all fixture developments once confirmed details of our Semi Final have been received from the NI Football League.
