Chris it better

Chris Curran wants Tuesday night’s defeat of Lisburn Distillery to be the starting point from which Cliftonville produce an upturn in form.

The Reds host Ballymena United in the Danske Bank Premiership tomorrow and the skipper is determined to help the team stay on track after a stop-start opening couple of months to the season.

“Distillery might have been the best thing for us,” he says.

“We didn’t have a huge amount of time after Saturday and it was good to get a game and try and get back to winning ways.”

Reflecting on last week’s late collapse against Warrenpoint Town, Curran adds: “It was massively frustrating to be that far into the game and give a goal away from the set-piece and lose the game in the end. As players, it’s our responsibility to put in a better performance.”

You can read the full Curran interview in tomorrow’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £2.50.
