Park strife

Cliftonville Olympic were edged out by Linfield Swifts in a pulsating Premiership Development clash at New Midgley Park this evening.

Following a goalless first-half, the Reds – who had Paul McAdorey sent off early in the second period – found themselves 2-0 down within three minutes of the restart but reduced the arrears courtesy of Donal Rocks.

Linfield restored their two-goal advantage but, themselves reduced to 10 men, shipped a strike to Ronan Hamill with the Olympic simply unable to register a late leveller despite a concerted push.
