Reds take Straney tribute honours

A Cliftonville Legends side paid tribute to our much-missed former goalkeeper Paul Straney in a special charity match held in his honour yesterday.

Goals from George McMullan, Ryan Catney, Gary Kennedy and Fra Murphy earned the Reds a 4-1 win over a Downpatrick Legends XI at St Dillon’s Park.

Friends of the Cancer Centre were the beneficiaries of the occasion as representatives from both Clubs came together in memory of Paul, who sadly passed away in 2017.
