Group effort

Cliftonville Ladies return to action in a crucial Boyle Sports Women’s Cup game against Larne Women tomorrow night.

The Reds – who have won the trophy in each of the last three seasons – require a point from this concluding Group B clash to book their place in the Final, where Glentoran Women lie in wait.

After overcoming Derry City 3-1 in their opening fixture of the competition, Brendan Lynch’s side were last weekend held to a draw by Lisburn Rangers, with whom they are locked on four points at the top of the group.

Though they boast the advantage of a goal difference that is one better than their rivals, this game in hand represents a chance for Cliftonville to rubberstamp progress to the decider, with supporters reminded that the match – which gets under way at 7.45pm – will be played at the Larne Academy of Sport.
