Double Malt for Burrows
Cliftonville Ladies captain Kelsie Burrows has been called into the Northern Ireland Women’s squad for the forthcoming double header of World Cup qualifiers with Malta.
Goalkeeper Maddy Harvey-Clifford and defender Fi Morgan have also been added to Manager Michael McArdle’s training camp ahead of the games that will take place at Mourneview Park next Tuesday, April 14 and at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’Qali on Saturday the 18th.
As a consequence, the Reds’ Boyle Sports Cup opener with Larne Women tomorrow night has been postponed.
Six Cliftonville players have, meanwhile, been selected in the Northern Ireland Women’s Under-16 squad for two upcoming friendlies with Scotland.
Beth Peoples, Autumn Edgar, Anayah Lee, Annarose Robinson, Abigal Curley and Charley McMullan will all be part of Danielle McDowell Tuffey’s side for games scheduled to be played at Greenisland FC on April 14 and 17, while Lydia Thompson and Lucy Kelly will be in the Under-19 squad for a UEFA mini tournament in Portugal from April 12-19 when, in addition to facing the hosts, they will also take on Spain and Hungary.
