Reds at the four

As the international break draws to a close, we congratulate the four Cliftonville players who were in European Championship qualifying action.

Harry Wilson and Conor Barr (pictured) both emerged from the bench in Northern Ireland Under-21s’ victory over Latvia at The Oval last Thursday night before starting yesterday’s defeat to Greece in in Livadia.

Northern Ireland Under-19s, meanwhile, reached the elite round of Euro 2026 qualifying after a successful mission to Malta.

Keevan Hawthorne started last Wednesday’s 1-0 win against the host nation in Ta’Qali, before being joined in the line-up by Reds team-mate Joe Sheridan for Saturday’s defeat of Azerbaijan.

Gareth McAuley’s side concluded their trip against Czechia on Tuesday morning, with both Sheridan and Hawthorne named in the XI which, despite losing, finished second in Group 13 to progress to the next phase of qualifiers.
